The Arizona Department of Health Services (the “Department”) awards Medical Marijuana Dispensary Registration Certificates (“DRCs”) to qualified applicants. The Arizona Medical Marijuana Act imposes a statutory cap on how many DRCs the Department must issue. This number is capped depending on the number of open pharmacies in the state of Arizona. The Department is authorized to exceed this cap if one of Arizona's fifteen counties is without a dispensary. In December 2022, applicants applied for six DRCs across six Arizona counties without a dispensary.
On March 10, 2023, the Department announced the recipients and Meyer & Partners is proud to announce that our clients have been awarded two of the available six DRCs. Substantial time, energy, and planning are put into this application process and we are proud that our clients have succeeded.
We look forward to continuing to work with our clients as they provide medical marijuana to cardholders and caregivers across Arizona. Our firm provides legal and regulatory services to dispensaries, grows, and vendors that are the backbone of Arizona's marijuana industry.
